The love of Christ can be demonstrated while meeting the needs of a disaster victim in the time of a disaster. The following list can be the guide that will help your church plan on how your facility can be used. The church in or close to a disaster area can be used as:

• A feeding center or a feeding center for the volunteer workers that would be coming in to help in the community.
• A distribution center for food, clothes, cleaning supplies, hygiene and many other donated items.
• An information area for workers and volunteers.
• A communication center to help with insurance, etc.

Church members can be assisting in many ways. Volunteers that provide the services mentioned. They can help with clean up and/or repairs. Members can also be used for the transportation that will be needed. Qualified members can assist in areas of expertise and counsel.

The church that is not in the disaster area will have different obligations. This church can gather supplies and contributions from the community. Organize work teams to go into the disaster area to help out.

This is an opportunity to reach out to those in need in the name of Jesus while coordination with your local church family and friends, networked church families, and your local non profit organizations as well as local government Emergency Operation Center.
